Manufacturing Systems
The Manufacturing Systems sector deals with all the processes of transformation of materials for the creation of products starting from the conception of the products themselves, to production and eventual recycling. It uses, in the various phases, complex technologies and systems for the development of products and processes. Technological solutions increasingly based on research, will have to respond to the growing needs of competitiveness and sustainability at a global level.
The fundamental activities:
- manufacturing and assembly product and the process controls;
- recycling;
- mechanical and technological characterization of the worked materials; the link between their properties and the parameters that define the processes;
- methodologies and tools for the design of processes, components and transformation systems (capital goods);
- programming, management and control of processing and assembly systems;
- quality management and environmental protection with a view to sustainable development.
